In the same district as the United Nation Headquarters, it is easy to believe that you are in a traditional Japanese restaurant in Tokyo and not in NYC. Booking a table in advance is highly recommended. First time we went there, we didn’t have a reservation so we had to come back next day. It was totally worth it!
chefs at workTraditional decor, tableware, everything makes you think you are in an upscale sushi restaurant in Japan. Overall, our experience in Yasuda from order to receipt was almost identical to our experience in Japan.Sashimis were very fresh, chutoro (fatty tuna) and the salmon were melting in your mouth. It’s easier to come by good salmon in Europe and in the US but can’t say the same for good fatty tuna. Of course, that high quality tuna requires an additional budget. We believe nobody grills food like Japanese do. This succulent fish was just another prove of that belief. Lightly grilled but with a strong charcoal smell, this dish was one of the highlights of the day.
